HANSTF was established January 2020 and has had 8 public meetings to date, many of these meetings where the public described in detail how the tour copter operations significantly negatively impacted their lives.
To date not one of the member organizations has proposed nor implemented any meaningful relief from the relentless tour copter noise nuisance pollution torture.
Task Force Members:
Alex Tamoria, Airports Operation Officer, Hawaii Department of Transportation Airports Division
Hawaii Helicopter Association, Casey Riemer
General Aviation Council of Hawaii, Bruce Mayes
Helicopter Association International, Cade Clark and John Shea
Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Melissa McCaffrey
Tour Operators Program of Safety, Justin Brooke
At the closing comments by you, you all have said we heard you and appreciate your comments and off to the next meeting 3 months away.
That is uncounsiousable and totally unacceptable.
HANSTF meetings must be scheduled ASAP where meaningful relief is provided and implemented.
Putting it off any longer as discussed to 2022, A’ole!!

O Kimeona kēia, kupa wau o ka ʻāina Waimānalo. E ʻoluʻolu, mai ka pono ʻole. Pono ʻoukou e lohe i nā leo o ke kaiaulu.
Mahalo a nui.
My name is Kimeona, I am a child of Waimānalo. Please, stop these wrong doings. Listen to the voices of the community.
I want to disclosure that I am the Chair of the Waimānalo Neighborhood Board and have been fielding concerns of helicopter distrubances for years. Today, I speak to you as a deeply concerned member of the community. Our community, like so many others, is plagued by the impacts of helicopter traffic, and for years, unmanaged flights including tour and military have continued to wreck havoc on our lifestyle and wellbeing. The tragedies that have happened are a reminder that these flights should never be conducted over the community where it risks our lives on the ground. Please support the community of Waimānalo and others, listen to their voices and stop the disrespectful behaviors that continue to add stress on the people.
I can totally support the use of helicopters for medical and emergency response teams, but the tour and “training” flights that seem to very off expected routes and over our community should cease.
I can be reached for question at 808 398 8989 and firstname.lastname@example.org.

According to FlightRadar24, on Thursday October 14, there were 40 helicopter tours! Of those 40 helicopters, 18 flew over neighborhoods of Hawaii Kai, Waimanalo, Kailua, and Kaneohe. It does not include tours that went to north shore, which make the numbers higher. The 40 helicopters do not include HPD, HFD, Coast Guard, or military. This shows the problem with helicopter noise in residential areas. Often time, they fly way too low that it shakes houses. We don’t want to live feeling like there’s a war, because when I look out the window, it’s tour helicopters that are that are causing the disruption most often. Please stop helicopters from flying over residential. Mahalo.
In Waimānalo it has become an Increasing problem and quite terrifying to see so many helicopters…especially the commercial and military… flying not only above our Beach shoreline but also above our Homes!
When will we Resolve this issue?
Maybe ONLY after a Disaster?
Keep Our Communities Safe.
Me ke Aloha,
